In 2012, Royal Carribean Cruise Lines selected Joel Tacey as their official Balloon Artist aboard the 91st sailing of the Allure of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world. Sailing in late-August, this balloon art booking was the exclamation point on Joel's Summer Tour (that took him to more than 150 cities across Michigan in 73 days!).
Joel's wife Peggy accompanied him as his assistant, photographer, and cheerleader. Joel entertained 6,000 passengers of all ages with thousands of colorful balloon creations over a 9 day cruise (the cruise was lengthened 2 days due to Hurricane Isaac).
People from all over the world stopped by to get a balloon creation from Joel (see the "marked map" below). Passengers of all ages even shared their thoughts about Joel's balloon art (see the "comment map" below). Even the Cruise Program Administrator took notice and has already invited Joel back! (see the letter at the very bottom of this page).
In the end, Royal Carribean and their guests loved the balloon art and excitement that Joel Tacey brought aboard!
